Ghana Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been involved in a serious accident on the Yendi-Tamale road after his convoy rammed into a taxi on Friday leaving the driver in a critical condition.

The nation's second most powerful politician was in Yendi on Friday to participate in the funeral of Yaa Naa Mahamadu Abdulai.

The speeding convoy was crossed by a taxicab. Meanwhile, the taxi driver and a passenger in the taxi are said to be in a critical condition.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that a lecturer at the University of West London has praised the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for his far-sighted economic administrative skills.

Dr. Dacosta Aboagye said Bawumia made Ghana one of the fastest growing economies in the world in 2018 stating that it was an indication of a prosperous 2019, according to MyNewsGh.com reports.

According to him, 2019 would be prosperous because the government has performed and managed key macroeconomic indicators needed for development.
