English-born Ghanaian midfielder Brendan Sarpong Wiredu has clinched a spot in the EFL League One team of match-week 15 following a scintillating display.

Sarpong Wiredu, who had been sidelined for several months due to a knee injury, made a triumphant return to the field, playing a pivotal role in Fleetwood Town's narrow away victory over Reading FC on Tuesday evening.

The 23-year-old central midfielder had been out of action since August, when he sustained the injury in a match-week two game against Cambridge United. Despite the hiatus, he demonstrated his prowess on the field.

Sarpong Wiredu, known for his box-to-box abilities, is widely regarded as one of the top enforcers in the English third-tier league. He joined Fleetwood Town from Colchester United in 2022, and his performance in match-week 15 underscores his value to the team.

It's worth noting that Sarpong Wiredu remains eligible to represent either Ghana or England in the future, offering flexibility in his international career.
