Brentford's Tariqe Fosu has been handed a late call up to the Black Stars squad that will take on Mali and Qatar in an International friendly game.

Ghana will take on Mali on Friday 9th October in Antalya, Turkey before playing against 2022 World Cup host Qatar three days later.

Brentford made this known on the club's official website:

"Tariqe Fosu has joined up with the Ghana squad for the first time ahead of two games in Antalya this week."

The Black Stars head to the largest city on Turkey's Mediterranean coast to face Mali this coming Friday, 9 October, kick-off 6pm, before a game against Qatar on Monday, 12 October, kick-off 4.30pm. Both games are in preparation for next month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.

It is the first time Tariqe, who was capped at England Under-18 level, has met up with his Ghana teammates.

The 24-year-old was previously included in March's squad just before football was suspended due to Covid-19.

Tariqe joined The Bees in January from Oxford United. He made 11 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship last campaign, netting his maiden Brentford goal against Sheffield Wednesday in March.

This term he has made a further six appearances in league and Carabao Cup.
