Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency (MP), Hon. Bryan Acheampong has expressed worry about the negligence of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to complete the Abetifi hospital.
According to him, it is absurd for the people of Kwahu East with a population of about hundred thousand people not to have a proper hospital and for that, he has revealed it is the vision of the government to make sure that the contractor returns to site in their bid to complete the project.
He affirmed that, a chunk of the money approved by the British government as the financiers of the hospital project in Abetifi were used in activities that was not relation to the hospital.
He added hat, about $6m dollars was taken out of the hospital project for the surveying of political party that will win in 2020 polls by the previous government.
Mr. Acheampong was of the view that, the fund allocated for the construction of the project was used for other things, saying that if the NDC had been in power till date, they wouldn't have finish with the project.
He continued that, investigations conducted by both British and Ghana government shows that the money was use for different activities by the NDC and has revealed government has gone in for a different money to invest in the construction of the project in Abetifi.
He then assured the chiefs and elders of Abetifi of ensuring that the contractor returns to site by the end of next year as he believes all the necessary investigations has been done to make sure they finish the project.
"I can assure you and the people of Kwahu that, our hospital that has become social media political sensation will be completed" he assured.
He then pleaded with Ghanaians to make sure they vote for a political party that is committed to the development of the country, which is the NPP government.
Giving an overview of some developmental projects in the area, he said, they have constructed close to about 100 boreholes of which they have began mechanization.
He indicated that, by the end of next year they will finish with the mechanization of all the 120 boreholes constructed and has promised to do more for the people.
The Minister in charge of Security averred that, their vision as a party is to build a foundation for a happy and educated prosperous society in the country in the next ten years (2030).
Setting a target for the people of Kwahu, he expressed the believe that by 2040, the Kwahu area will be the number one society in the country and has tasked the people to support the vision.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Kwahu East, Isaac Agyapong on his side revealed some of the developmental project in the area with Suminakese, Atta ne Atta, Nteso Anglican Primary, Ahenase KG, Motta Mireku KG and Hyewohoden KG having a school block.
He indicated that, under his watch they have helped communities like Asikam and Abene with a durbar ground and a police post for the people of Hweehwee.
Mr. Agyapong disclosed that, they have been able to maintain 100km feeder roads in the area and construction of ten number covert on selected roads.
According to him, the Bryan Acheampong Foundation has been able to give scholarships to about 100 teachers where 70 of them is currently having their degree course at the Abetifi Presbyterian University
He expressed that, the foundation in its quest to support the vision of the president supported about 2,000 farmers in the area with farm inputs such cutlasses, Boots and others.
Again, he revealed the foundation has been able to register about 1,000 children without health insurance.
Touching on the thrift shops by the foundation, he disclosed that about 2,000 people are benefiting from it particularly the aged.
He expressed that, with the help of the MP for the constituency and president of the country, Kwahu East will see massive developmental projects in subsequent years.
