Former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has thrown his weight behind Abetifi MP and former Minister of Agriculture to lead the party in the 2028 presidential elections.

According to him, Dr. Bryan Acheampong is the ideal candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the future.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, May 25, Appiah-Kubi praised Dr. Acheampong as a “symbol of victory” and emphasised the need for the party to rally behind a dynamic and visionary leader capable of restoring its momentum and securing electoral success.

“The task on our hearts is to present a great candidate who can redeem our party, and Dr. Bryan Acheampong is preparing himself for that mission. He will speak for himself in due course, but I am only a messenger. From what I know, he is the one and his work speaks volumes,” he said.

Appiah-Kubi also pointed to Acheampong’s academic credentials and business acumen as compelling reasons for his endorsement.

“If we are looking for a candidate with intellectual prowess, Bryan is the one. If we want a successful business mogul, he’s that too. So with him, we’re killing two birds with one stone,” he noted.
While Dr. Acheampong has not officially declared his intent, his rising stature within the party and growing endorsements from key figures suggest he could be a major force in the race for the NPP flagbearership.

The 2028 elections will be a crucial test for the NPP, and party insiders believe a strong, unifying candidate like Dr. Acheampong could be their best bet at reclaiming power.
