NEW DELHI: State-owned telecom operator BSNL has rolled out a new prepaid plan for its subscribers. The telecom operator has introduced a plan of Rs 899 for the users. The plan offers unlimited calling, data and SMS benefits.
Under Rs 899 plan, BSNL is offering unlimited national and local calling. Along with this, users get 1.5GB data per day and 50 local and national SMS per day. The plan comes with the validity of 180 days and users will get a total of 270GB of total data.

This new plan of Rs 899 will compete against the 1,999 plan from Reliance Jio. The Mukesh Ambani -owned telecom operator offers unlimited local and national calling with 100 SMS per day under the plan. Along with this, users will also get a total of 125 GB data with no daily FUP limit. The plan offers validity of 180 days which is same as the BSNL plan. With the calling and data benefit, users will also get free access to Jio Suite apps which include JioTV, JioCinema and others.

It is interesting to note that BSNL is giving 3G data under the plan, while Reliance Jio is offering high speed 4G data.

Recently, BSNL introduced three annual plans for its prepaid users. The telco introduced plans of Rs 1,312, Rs 1,699 and Rs 2,099. As part of Rs 1,312, the telecom operator offers unlimited local and STD calling on any network expect for the Delhi and Mumbai circles. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day with 5GB data and free personalised ring back tones.

On the other hand, the Rs 1,699 and Rs 2,099 offers unlimited calling with no daily FUP limit, free personalised ring back tones and SMS. Under Rs 1,699 plan the service provider offers 2GB data per day, while the the Rs 2,099 plan provide 4GB data daily. In case users exhaust the daily data limit then the internet speed will come down to 80Kbps.
