The Former Northern Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu has slammed the former President John Dramani Mahama for his inability to restore peace in Dagbon.

According to him, “it is a shame for His Excellency John Mahama [a Northerner] to sit apathetically for Nana Addo from all the way Kyebi to come and resolve Dagbon chieftaincy dispute and also create two more regions for northerners, which John Mahama is a beneficiary”.

Mr. Naabu also known as “Chairman Bulldozer” maintained that he was indeed very proud to be one of those Regional Chairmen of NPP who worked very hard to ensure Nana Addo became victorious in the 2016 general elections.

“Looking at the excellent performance of the President Akufo-Addo, and in particular his vision to create six new regions to spur development, and restore peace in Dagbon, I don’t regret spending all my time, energy, resources, and abandoning my business in Accra to go to the North as Regional Chairman to campaign in hot and rainy weathers for Nana’s victory. He has made me very proud”, said Naabu.

He said a good Government is the one that responds to the needs and aspirations of the people, and prayed Nana Addo and the NPP stayed “in power for 30 more years”.

Mr. Naabu was particularly happy that the people of Northern Region were major beneficiaries of the creation of the new regions.

He thus reprimanded the former President John Dramani Mahama for his “lack of vision and neglect of the people of Northern Ghana”.

He questioned why Mr. Mahama being a true son of the north could disappoint his own people by ignoring the expectations of the chiefs and people to have a new region created out of the northern region to accelerate development.

“His Excellency John Mahama showed to everyone that he had no vision or plans for the people of the north and even if you look at the commitment Nana Addo has shown in implementing the Dagbon peace roadmap and compare to that of John Mahama when he was in power you will see that John was never ready to help his own people, not even the creation of the Savannah region”, he fumed.

Adding, “the north was more or less a war zone where tribes were making war against each other; Gonjas verses Gonjas, Dagombas verses Dagombas, Nanumbas verses Nanumbas, Konkombas verses Konkombas, Bimobas verses Bimobas etc but today Nana Addo has brought peace to the doorsteps of Dagombas. And I am very very proud and believe that we Ghanaians are [sensible] to know that Akufo-Addo is not only a gentleman but a [peace reverend minister]”.

Mr. Bugri Naabu who claimed to have known Nana Akufo-Addo for over 40 years said if he [Nana] was allowed to rule Ghana for another term, Ghana would be the best place for all to live.
