Bismark Kobby, is in the police grips at the  Agona Fawomanye community cemetery in the Agona East District in the Central Region for raping a 23 year old lady.

Narrating the incident that took place in a cemetery by an eyewitness Kofi Binny, who is also Unit Committee Member at the District, there was a sharp cry for help in the  cemetery and upon following the direction of the noise, they found the suspect committing the act.

According to Mr Binny, they acted according to the demands of the law by grabbing the suspect to the police station.

According to Mr Binny, on interrogating the banana seller after the rescue, she stated that the accused had invited her into the bush where according to him, he worked with his colleagues as by day workers.

She had added he had said that the friends would like to get some of the bananas and that was why she followed him but upon getting to the near by bush, he forcefully had sex with her.

She added that the accused had threaten to kill her if she refused.

Speaking on the issue, the Chief of the  Agona Fawomanye, Nana Sekyi Ansah IV, said the elders of Fawomanye have met with the family of the suspect, and they would provide three sheep, six bottles of Schnapps to perform rituals at the cemetery and the forest so they can have peace as a family.

However, the mother of the victim has expressed her worries over the incident saying she fears her daughter may have contracted a Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)  after the rape.

Meanwhile, the some of the indegenes  have stated that they are living in fears, looking at Bismark’s attitude and that of some men in the town.

According to them, this is not the first time Bismark had committed such an act.
