The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee has announced the new dates for the upcoming TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Originally scheduled for this year, the tournament has been moved to July 2025 and will be hosted in Morocco.

During a meeting at CAF's headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the Executive Committee confirmed the following dates for the WAFCON Morocco 2025:

- Opening Match: Saturday, July 5, 2025
- Final Match: Saturday, July 26, 2025

This decision was finalized at a CAF Council meeting on June 21, 2024, which moved the competition to next year. The 21-day event will kick off on July 5, 2025, and culminate in the final on July 26, 2025.

The WAFCON is rapidly growing in popularity and significance across the continent. The tournament will provide a platform for showcasing the best of African women's football, with Morocco as the host nation.

Ghana's Black Queens have successfully secured their spot in the competition after missing out since 2018. Their qualification adds to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the tournament.
