CAF Awards 2025: Ghana's Black Stars nominated for Men's National Team of the Year Award

The Black Stars of Ghana have been officially nominated for the National Team of the Year at the upcoming 2025 CAF Awards, following a remarkable turnaround in their international campaign.
Despite the disappointment of missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana bounced back with resilience and consistency, sealing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be co-hosted by USA, Canada, and Mexico.

The Black Stars had an impressive World Cup qualifying campaign as they scored 23 goals in 10 qualifying matches and conceding only six times. The team, guided by former international, Otto Addo, have sealed a ticket to the Mundial and it is their fifth ever appearance at the global showpiece.
Captain Jordan Ayew was impressive in their quest for qualification as he led by example and masterminded the journey with seven goal contributions and seven assists across ten games for the Black Stars in the qualification journey.
The team, boasting of great talents who are in blistering form across Europe were able to translate their club numbers into that of the national colours to help propel the national team to achieving such illustrious feat.
This resurgence has earned Ghana a place among Africa’s elite, vying for one of CAF’s most prestigious honours.
CAF is expected to announce the date and venue for the awards ceremony in the coming weeks, with anticipation building across the continent.
