The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) have made a raft of changes to dates of most of its competitions due to the debilitating effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among them include new dates for the finals of the Caf Champions League and also the Presidential elections next year.

The finals of the CAF Champions league has been rescheduled to Nov 6 meaning it has been pushed back by three weeks from the original date.

The decision which was arrived at during the Executive Committee meeting of the continent’s football governing body on Thursday via a virtual meeting.

Now the Semi finals of the CAF Champions League will now be staged on the weekends of Oct. 16-17 and Oct. 23-24.

Its an all Morocco vs Egypt affairs in the semi finals as Raja Casablanca take on Zamalek, while Wydad Casablanca meet Al Ahly.

The first legs of the semi-finals were due to start later this month, but have been pushed back due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

CAF second tier club competition the Confederations Cup has also been moved to next moved to be played over a single leg between Oct 19-20 with both in Morocco.

Egyptian side Pyramids will face off Guinean outfit Horoya , while there is also an all-Moroccan clash between RS Berkane and Hassania Agadir.

The final will be staged in Rabat on Oct. 25, a month later than originally scheduled.

CAF also confirmed that their Elective General Assembly will be held on March 12 in Rabat, Morocco, where incumbent president Ahmad Ahmad could seek a second four-year term.

Ahmad will face a stern test of his popularity as he has been faced with a plethora of scandals including sexual conduct offences against staff at CAF, bribery, misuse of CAF funds among others since ousting long serving Isssa Hayatou in 2016.

He has however denied any wrongdoing in all the above mentioned accusations.

Nominations for president and positions on the executive committee will be open from Sept. 11-Nov. 12.
