ASFAR

ASFAR – So far, so good

With Morocco looking relevantly new to women football, reaching the semifinals was a good feat for ASFAR. But their dreams of a place in the final were cut short by a 2-1 defeat to Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies in the semis.

Yet, the Moroccans seem hungry for more and the bronze medals would be something good to look at should they win on Thursday.

What they said

“I told the girls that I take full responsibility for the tactical side, so they have to move on and focus on getting a medal,” Abdallah Haidamou, Coach.

Malabo Kings – Recovering from penalties heartbreak

Only luck denied Malabo Kings a place in the final. From the spot, they saw the posts denying them twice in the shootout, as they surrendered 5-4 on penalties to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns after a goalless draw in regular and extra time.

Now, Malabo Kings are keen on returning home with another kind of compensation, bronze medals. They will hope to recover and that the luck would be on their side this time.

What they said

“We lost penalties that do not know logic most of the time. We have to do our best to get out of this tournament with a medal,” Ruben Garcia Galego, Coach.
