Trabzonspor forward Caleb Ekuban has returned to match fitness ahead of their Saturday super clash with Fernerbache.

The return of the Ghanaian marks a big boost for Trabzonspor, who are in strong contention for the league title.

The team has also seen the return of former Liverpool forward Daniel Stirridge but it is the Ghanaian whose availablity makes more of a headline.

Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce will face in the 20th week of the Super League, sitting 4th and 3rd on the league respectively.

Trabzonspor is trailing Fernerbache by three points having grabbed 30 points out of 18.

But the side has a game in hand and a win keeps their title hope alive, with six separating them and the league leaders Sivasspor.

In the burgundy blue team, there were double gospel before the giant derby. Healing Caleb Ekuban and Daniel Sturridge will be able to play in the Fenerbahçe fight.

The joy of Ekuban and Sturridge is experienced in Trabzonspor before the Fenerbahçe match. Healed Caleb Ekuban started working with the team earlier this week.

It was stated that both players got over their pain and reached the level that they could wear in Fenerbahçe derby.

The return of Ekuban and Sturridge, who continued their strength training, also pleased the coach Hüseyin Çimşir.

With the participation of the star names, Çimşir's hand strengthened before the Fenerbahçe derby.

It was learned that Hüseyin Çimşir plans to play Caleb Ekuban in the top 11 at a difficult date.

Trabzonspor's technical boss is expected to keep Sturridge on the sidelines as a 'move player', who is at the end of the physical recovery process. Hüseyin Çimşir will put the English star on the field according to the course of the match.

March preview

Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce and Basaksehir are in  the race to capture 2019/20. To be fair, out of the sides that currently look like they are in the race it goes without saying that Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce look the strongest. They are also best equipped to cope with the pressure of a title run. The Yellow Canaries brushed Basaksehir aside last week. Beating the Istanbul minnows 2-0 but that was at home and as we established above, their home is a fortress. Trabzonspor meanwhile, are also in great form. Like Fenerbahce they are also strong at home. And this is a huge derby. Expect there to be an extremely hostile atmosphere for the visitors. Trabzon is based in the stormy eastern Black Sea coast a long, long way away from the pleasantries of Istanbul.

Trabzonspor will be without Abdulkadir Omur (Injury) and Anthony Nwakaeme. Omur is a long term absentee but Nwakaeme has been an important player for the home side. Fenerbahce meanwhile, have no new injuries or suspensions.

It is worth pointing out that Trabzonspor have had an extra weeks rest as their match against Malatyaspor was postponed after an earthquake hit the neighboring Elazig region.

Both sides biggest strength is in attack. Vedat Muriqi has 13 goals and five assists for Fenerbahce, Crystal Palace loanee Alexander Sorloth, on the other hand, has 15 goals and six assists for Trabzonspor. In many aspects they are similar strikers. The tall, physical strikers have used their strength to great effect this season.

This could go both ways. There is so much on the line and so many factors other than the form book to consider. What I do expect is to see goals. A lot of them. This is likely to be an exciting high scoring affair.
