In the final game of the season, Black Stars forward Caleb Ekuban found the back of the net to help Genoa CFC clinch a 4-3 victory over SSC Bari in the Italian Serie B on Friday night after they secured their return to Serie A last week.

The match at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris saw the home side take an early lead in the 12th minute through defender Stefano Sabelli.

However, young forward Sebastiano Esposito equalized for Bari in the 20th minute. Genoa didn't let up and regained the lead before halftime with a goal from Albert Gudmundsson.

Bari fought back once again as midfielder Leonardo Benedetti scored in the 68th minute to level the score. However, Ekuban quickly responded and put Genoa back in front with a well-taken goal.

With four minutes remaining, Moroccan international forward Walid Cheddira scored for Bari, leveling the match once again.

The dramatic encounter reached its conclusion when former Italy international and veteran defender Domenico Criscito calmly converted a penalty kick in additional time, securing the victory for Genoa.

Finishing second in the league standings with 73 points after 38 matches, Genoa secured their promotion back to the Italian top-flight, Serie A, after just one season in Serie B.

The team's impressive performance throughout the season, including Ekuban's contributions, propelled them back to the elite level of Italian football.

In his 14 appearances for Genoa during the season, Ekuban showcased his attacking prowess by scoring two goals and providing two assists.

His contributions played a part in the team's successful campaign and their well-deserved return to Serie A.
