Customers of the Apenkwa-Fly Top branch of the Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) in Accra who thronged the premises of the bank on Tuesday, August 6 to withdraw money were turned away.

Although the bank receives cash deposits, customers who went there last Friday and today August 6, to make withdrawal were denied their savings.

According to some of the customers who spoke to Onua FM on Friday they were told the bank was upgrading its system, and so they were not allowed to make withdrawal.

According to them, they were directed to come on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 for their monies since Monday was a holiday, which they complied but they were still not able to withdraw.

Report indicate that scores of customers who were at the banking hall around 8:30am Tuesday to withdraw money were told by the bank’s tellers they can only deposit.

This angered most customers who do not understand why they can deposit but cannot withdraw.

Tellers of the bank said the decision to suspend withdrawal was taken by management of the branch.
