The Coalition For Restoration(CFR) has ridiculed the president's claim of fighting corruption, saying his, "lameduck government" must be booted of office.

The Akufo Addo administration "has already hatched not less than 105 scandals" in 2years,8 months, it says.

The policy think tank believes there is much to be desired in the President's claim, reminding him of some scandalous cases under his watch.

Akufo-Addo insists that despite corrupt allegations leveled against some of his appointees, none has been found guilty.

In a his recent encounter with the BAR at Takoradi, he said every single act of alleged corruption has been investigated by independent bodies.

He said it is not part of his job to clear or convict any of his appointees accused of wrongdoing, refusing the "clearing agent" tag.

But the CFR, in a media release, says the way and manner of which  some of the corrupt allegations have been handled by the Jubilee House, indicate failure on the side of the 78- year-old human rights lawyer.

"Mention can be made of the way and manner you shabbily handled the BOST Gate, CASH FOR SEAT saga, the allegation involving the two(2) deputy chiefs of staff, the Visa scandal involving Pius Hadzide, the Galamsey bribery involving Charles Bissue etc. It is no surprising you have earned the titles of a Clearing Agent. Maybe a name well deserved, " the CFR said in a statement.

The putrid smell of PDS, PPA and the recent Atta Akyea's housing scandals are staring us in the face but you conveniently avoided those by playing to the gallery," it added.

According to the CFR the recent call for "Ghana Beyond Corruption"  instead of "Ghana Beyond Aid" shows the Akufo Addo government is flaundering in the fight against the canker.

COALITION FOR RESTORATION'S (CFR) RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT NANA AKUFFO ADDO ON THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION

In the spirit of being citizens rather than spectators, we wish to strongly make our views clear on your recent encounter with the BAR at Takoradi.

Mr. President; the interaction with the BAR in your quest to whitewash cases of corruption levelled against your government has rather left many in doubts as to your commitment towards fighting the canker. Hardly does a day pass by without being hit with a scandal or another. On our last count as a group, your 2years, 8months administration has already hatched not less than 105 scandals, and still no indication of it abating anytime soon. The level of corruption in your government has reduced our once enviable image to a public ridicule, to the extent that an ambassador to Ghana was on video lampooning your "Ghana Beyond Aid" mantra is an indication of a government that has loss the fight on corruption. And incase you haven't heard, Mr. Strikker has admonished you to push for a "GHANA BEYOND CORRUPTION" rather than the "AID".

This is not the Ghana you inherited from your predecessor and certainly not the Ghana you promised the good people of this country.

Mr. President;
Mention can be made of the way and manner you shabbily handled the BOST Gate, CASH FOR SEAT saga, the allegation involving the two(2) deputy chiefs of staff, the Visa scandal involving Pius Hadzide, the Galamsey bribery involving Charles Bissue etc. It is no surprising you have earned the titles of a Clearing Agent. Maybe a name well deserved!

Mr. President, your insincere lamentations cannot be taken seriously when your special prosecutor has been deliberately rendered powerless by your office and the A-G. His recent outburst and banter with Yaw Buabeng Asamoah on the Charles Bissue case is a testament of a government lacking the will to fight the crime.

The putrid smell of PDS, PPA and the recent Atta Akyea's housing scandals are staring us in the face but you conveniently avoided those by playing to the gallery.

Persecuting members of the previous administration alone not enough effort to addressing the problem holistically, when you look on while your appointees engage in far worst in magnitude. You in fact have emboldened some of these appointees to plunder the more with impunity, as have been in the case of the 11 AC man (Kwame Owusu). Rather than prosecution, he has been reassigned to chair the board of almighty GRA.

Mr. President, how do you sack the whistleblowers in the cases of Ghana Cylinder Company Ltd and the NYA and the main culprits are left at post and still expect people to take you seriously! Again, if dismissing Boakye Agyarko and leaving Asante Bediatuo at post in the AMERI blues is your best approach to tackling this menace, then we dare say you have failed Ghana big time and the earlier we CLEAR your lame duck government from office the better for the public purse!

Mr President we therefore call on you to live up to the promises you made to the people of Ghana when being inaugurated into office to protect the public purse and then purge this good country from international ridicule and prune your government from corruption.

Signed
