Champion Ghana’s investment opportunities - GIPC urges Diplomatic Missions, DFIs
15th August 2025
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has called on diplomatic missions and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to actively market Ghana’s investment potential to global markets, investors, and networks.
Addressing the diplomatic community during an engagement on the Centre’s flagship Investment Opportunity Mapping Project (IOMP), Mr. Madjie said their advocacy could strengthen cross-border collaboration and attract targeted Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, and the Ghana Export
Promotion Authority (GEPA), the IOMP seeks to address the heavy concentration of investment in the Greater Accra Region — which currently attracts 80% of inflows — by highlighting untapped opportunities across all 261 districts.
“The IOMP is not simply about attracting more investments; it’s about balancing growth, reducing regional disparities, creating jobs, expanding exports, and building a diversified, resilient economy,” Mr. Madjie stated.
