Ipswich Town, returning to the Premier League after a 22-year absence, will face Liverpool on Saturday, 17 August. Meanwhile, Manchester City will begin their title defense at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on Sunday, 18 August.

The Premier League campaign kicks off on Friday, 16 August, with Manchester United hosting Fulham at Old Trafford.

Arsenal, last season's runners-up, will play Wolves at home on Saturday, the same day Aston Villa, who finished fourth, will travel to West Ham.

Saturday's fixtures also include Championship play-off winners Southampton facing Newcastle at St James' Park, Everton hosting Brighton, and Nottingham Forest taking on Bournemouth.

Brentford will welcome Crystal Palace on Sunday, and Championship winners Leicester City will host Tottenham on Monday, 19 August.

Ipswich's last Premier League game was a 5-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield on the final day of the 2001-02 season, a year after finishing a surprising fifth. Manchester City, who secured their fourth consecutive English league title in May, finished two points ahead of Arsenal.
