Former Ghana midfielder Charles Taylor has offered key advice to young footballer David Oduro, stressing the importance of dedication as he begins his journey with Barcelona's B team, Barca Atletic.

Oduro, who recently signed a three-year deal with the club, is still working towards earning a spot on the first team.

Despite having trained with both Barcelona's first team and youth squad, Oduro has yet to make his debut for the Catalan giants.

In a recent social media moment with former teammate Evans Botchway, he shared some of his experiences during training at the club, sparking excitement among his fans.

However, Taylor, a former star of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, cautioned Oduro against distractions, advising him to stay focused on his training.

“You shouldn’t have the mentality that you are playing for Barcelona B and that’s it. The Barcelona B team is even more difficult because they rely on it for quality players for the first team,” Taylor said during an interview on Angel TV.

While expressing enthusiasm over Oduro’s move to Barcelona, Taylor highlighted the importance of hard work and focus, especially as Oduro aspires to break into the first team.

“They should stop making videos at this stage and remain focused because that is the most important thing,” he added.

David Oduro, alongside Dreams FC winger Aziz Issah, made the leap to Barcelona directly from the Ghana Premier League, marking an exciting step for Ghanaian football talents abroad.
