Former Chelsea star Michael Essien has appetite to continue to play football despite staying inactive for months.
Essien is on the search for a club after terminating his contract with Greek giants Panathiniakos at the end of last season.

Two months, he got close to joining Australian side Melbourn Victory but the move fell through.

Essien is yet to find a new and there are suggestion he has given up on playing again but has set the record straight.

''I am still active, I have been training to keep my fitness. I have not retired. I would definitely announce to everyone if I retire,'' he told the BBC during the launch of the 2016 African Footballer of the Year.
