Nana Okoka Gyamfi II, the Akuapemhene of Akyem Muronaim in Asante Akyem South, has expressed dissatisfaction with Mr. Adams, the NPP's communications Director for the constituency, for failing to give credit to Mr. Bice Osei Kufour for facilitating the area's network mast.

While Mr. Adams had identified the MP and MCE as having contributed to the building of a mast to provide the locals with high-quality network, in reality, the initiative was brought about by the efforts of Mr. Bice Osei-Kufour, also known as Obour, an aspirant MP.

In a statement to clarify the issues, the chief, who also serves as the general secretary of the Muronaim Youth Association in Asanti Akyem South, said, "I would like to set the records straight without any malice; in 2018, the youth of Akyem Muronaim formed the Muronaim Youth Association where I was made the General Secretary."

He said that the Association's objective was to promote community development with a focus on three projects: repairing the River Anum Bridge, installing the network mast, and constructing the Muronaim JHS building.

He clarified that although the Association had committed to fundraise and handle the school project, it was dependent on the government to build the Bridge that connects the village to the Adansi Asokwa Constituency and the Network Mast.

He went on to say that although the Association, under his leadership, had seen several communities profit from such schemes, they had written multiple letters to the MP and MCE regarding the installation of a network mast, but to no result.

"I personally called Mr. Bice Osei-Kufour to inform him about our challenges and he invited me to his office at Ghana Post. We discussed the Muronaim Network challenge and he promised to work on it.

"In July 2023, Mr. Obour personally took me to the Ministry of Communications to discuss the project. A week after, Mr. Obour called to inform me that the Coordinator of the project at GIFEC will contact me and he indeed contacted me. This led to a meeting between myself and the GIFEC team at Juaso junction and leading them to Muronaim for the installation of the Network," he stated.

He added "I am a chief and my sole aim is to canvass for development to my community. It is as well prudent to give credit to anyone who is due and not watch on as such person is slandered for his hard work and benevolence to the people of Akyem Muronaim."

"We commend Mr. Obour for his kind gesture for facilitating the Network Mast which has helped communication in the community. We also welcome all and sundry who are willing to help the community That your effort will not go unrecognized."

"I would want to end by stating that the release by the NPP Constituency Communications Officer is untrue. Contrary to his position, it is rather factual that Mr. Bice Osei-Kufour aka Obour facilitated the installation of the Network Mast in Akyem Muronaim," he stressed.
