Business mogul Christopher Damenya has been elected as the national chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko's supporters group Circles.

In a hotly contested election, he beat off fierce competition from former national circles organizer and management member under the Opoku Nti led administration Solomon Ofosu Ware.

He garnered 209 votes to beat his competitor Solomon Ofosu Ware who polled 118 out of a total vote cast of 329 with two votes being rejected.

It was a no brainer he emerged victorious as he has shown his deep pockets towards activities of the club.

Christopher Damenya sent tongues wagging when he stumped up a mind blowing GH 100,000 to purchase a single club replica jersey when it was been out-doored in Kumasi.

These among many largess he has showed to the club and its supporters coupled with a manifesto which promises a lot gave him the mandate of the delegates of Asante Kotoko supporters for the next four years.

He replaces Chairman Kwaku Amponsah who in his last days had a fractious relationship with the club's hierarchy.
