Ghanaian coach CK Akonnor has expressed his openness to coaching Asante Kotoko again, revealing his willingness to work with the club if the opportunity arises.

The former Black Stars coach has been without a coaching job since parting ways with the Ghana national team in September 2021.

During this period, Akonnor has dedicated his time to learning more about the game, undertaking refresher courses to enhance his coaching skills.

"As I mentioned, I travelled to gain additional knowledge about the game, so right now I'm continuing to educate myself in that area," Akonnor told Akoma FM.

"I haven't given up, but everything will depend on the opportunity and the offer. I cannot say I'm bigger than Kotoko."

Akonnor previously served as head coach of Asante Kotoko for nine months between 2018 and 2019.

During his tenure, he guided the team to victory in the 2019 GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition and qualification for the 2019–20 CAF Champions League.

However, he was sacked by the club in July 2019 and replaced by Norwegian coach Kjetil Zachariassen.

Despite his departure, Akonnor remains open to the possibility of returning to Asante Kotoko, emphasizing his commitment to the club and his readiness to contribute to its success if given the opportunity.
