Scores of supporters of the National Democratic Congress have marched to president John Mahama's house, congratulating him for what they described as electoral victory for the National Democratic Congress.

The marchers, including some big guns of the party, waving white handkerchiefs,  say they were at the president's residence to show appreciation and congratulate him for "winning" the December 7 election.

"Everything shows we are winning, according to information available to us we are in a comfortable lead", the Greater Accra Chairman of the party Mr Ade Coker said.

"We are here to congratulate him and to show solidarity, because everything shows he is in  the lead and he is  going to win.We are only waiting for the EC to come out and declare."

The NDC has organised series of conferences claiming to be the party "likely" to win the election as result collate by its internal collating team indicates President John Mahama is "cruising to victory."

The opposition New Patriotic Party on Thursday also held a press conference, announcing its candidate Nana Akuffo Addo is leading with 54% and further called on John Mahama to "concede defeat."

However, the NDC has refused to quote figures but says its convinced about the trend so far, which shows that John Mahama is the gonna be the ultimate winner of the election.

"We don't want to  quote figures as the process is ongoing. We will wait patiently  for the EC to come out and declare. It is not about whether the NPP has won majority of parliamentary seats or not."

Presidential election is different from Parliamentary and as you can see there a places that the NDC lost the seats but John Mahama won the presidential," deputy organiser of the party Kofi Adams said.

The electoral Commission is expected to announce the results within 72 hours after the election and according to the deputy Education minister, Sam Okudjeto Ablakwa, the NDC will accept whatever the verdict the EC will give.

"Our collation shows the NDC is in the lead, the election results are not for the media to declare. So we are waiting for the EC  and we will accept the results from them"he added.

The president, in a tweet on friday, urged Ghanaians to wait for the electoral commission to come out with the results, saying "Ghana will be the winner."
