Coach of the Black Star,James Kwasi Appiah has thrown his weight behind the idea of introducing penalty shoot outs in our various leagues when they end in a draw.

Ghana has suffered several penalty shoot out heart aches and as part of efforts to change the trend, the GFA has proposed introducing penalty shoot out should matches in our leagues end in a draw.

This move sparked several controversies with varying degree of opinions about the novelty idea but the coach of the Senior Men's National Team has backed the idea.

He thinks If such thing is introduced in our league it will allow coaches take penalty kicks seriously at the training grounds.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Light Fm, the Black Stars trainer is fully in support of the decision.

"I perfectly agree to that arrangement because it will help the various coaches to teach and instill confidence in the players as to the techniques in taking good penalty and ultimately breaking that penalty shootout setback the country is facing in major tournaments over the years."
