Coach Nora Häuptle has expressed confidence in her team's abilities ahead of the crucial second leg clash against Zambia in the Olympic Games qualifier, emphasizing the need for a highly stabilized performance to secure victory.

Ghana, trailing 1-0 from the first leg in Accra, aims to turn the tide in their favor with a win on Wednesday, knowing that advancement to the fourth and final round hinges on a strong performance.

Reflecting on the first leg, Häuptle praised her team's performance despite the loss, highlighting their dominance on the pitch based on statistics. She emphasized the unpredictable nature of football but remained optimistic about their chances.

“We lost the game 1:0 in Accra but we had a good performance on the pitch. When you look at the statistics, they were all on our side and we deserved that. I think that’s how football goes sometimes," Häuptle remarked, acknowledging the challenges but also the opportunities presented by the sport.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception in Zambia, Häuptle lauded the country's beauty and the friendliness of its people. She noted the team's positive training sessions and anticipated a vibrant atmosphere in the packed stadium.

Looking ahead to the game, Häuptle outlined the team's approach, emphasizing the importance of stability and goal-scoring opportunities.

“I hope it would be a good football game tomorrow evening for us. We also have some plans for tomorrow and it’s our approach to stabilizing the game, we need to score and we are aware of that and we will see tomorrow on the pitch what our plans are,” she affirmed.

The eagerly anticipated match is scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Levy Mwanawasa Sports Stadium in Ndola, where Ghana will strive to secure their place in the next round of the Olympic Games qualifiers.
