Black Stars coach Otto Addo is poised to end his side's disastrous AFCON 2025 qualifiers on a high with a win in their last game against Niger.

Ghana will face Niger on Monday, with both sides competing to secure third place in the group.

The Black Stars' 1-1 draw against Angola last Friday dashed their hopes of advancing to the prestigious continental tournament.

With qualification no longer on the table, Addo’s squad is left playing for pride as they aim to avoid finishing at the bottom of the group.

“We are looking forward to tomorrow [to beat Niger], not to end up as last,” Addo emphasized during the pre-match press conference on Sunday.

“We want to beat them [Niger] for our honor and for third place,” he added, underlining the importance of the fixture in maintaining team morale.

Addo acknowledged that while the disappointment of failing to qualify is palpable, a victory over Niger could help the team regain some momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which are set to resume in March 2025.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT (4:00 pm).

The Black Stars will be aiming to end their campaign on a positive note and show resilience despite their recent setbacks.
