Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu has hailed  his players for being "tactically disciplined" in their 2-0 victory  over Medeama in their Matchday  29 encounter at  the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.

Boadu's side scored in either halfs   to maintain  their league lead by beating  his  former side from Tarkwa.

A strike from Salifu Ibrahim and powerful  header from  Benjamin Afutu ensured  Hearts extend their unbeaten run to 8 games in all competitions and 10th league victory in 13 games under Samuel Boadu.

“I have to give thanks to my players because they were tactically disciplined and what I told them they did it perfectly in the game situation like this one,” he said in the post match interview.

Boadu was playing  against Madeama for the first time after resigning from the Tarkwa based side to join the Rainbows.

He had led  Medeama to beat Hearts of Oak by 1-0 in the Matchday  12 encounter in the first round but needed to correct  to outdo it on Sunday to keep Hearts titles hopes alive.

And it came to pass in a better fashion as his side beat Medeama  2-0 to go better  in head-to-head situation.

The win has further brightened Hearts’ chances of winning the league title and Boadu had a lot of praises for his players at the final whistle.

Hearts have opened a 3-point lead at the top of the table though second-placed Asante Kotoko have a game in hand to honour on Monday afternoon.
