Nations FC head coach Kassim Mingle has shared his insights into the challenges of managing club football, asserting that coaching a local team is more demanding than leading the Black Stars.

Despite boasting over three decades of coaching experience, Mingle has not yet been offered the chance to manage any of Ghana's national teams, though he remains optimistic about earning such an opportunity through his consistent work.

Under Mingle's guidance, Nations FC achieved a seventh-place finish in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League and currently sit atop the table with 22 points from 11 games this season.

In a recent interview with Akoma FM, the experienced coach reflected on his career philosophy, emphasizing that success in football is a matter of destiny and that hard work will ultimately earn recognition.

"Football, in my opinion, is destiny," Mingle said. "I usually keep a low profile and dislike being hyped because I believe your work will speak for itself no matter how long it takes.

Many of the players I’ve developed have reached the national team or now play professionally abroad, and that’s something I take pride in."

When comparing the demands of coaching club football to managing the national team, Mingle explained that working with the Black Stars comes with fewer challenges.

"The Black Stars have players who are already at the top; all you need to do is arrange them, position them, and convince them of your philosophy to achieve results.

This makes coaching the Black Stars much easier than coaching a local team. At the local level, you’re given fringe players to develop and teach," he noted.

Although Mingle has yet to lead the Black Stars, he expressed his hope that the opportunity will eventually arise.

When it does, he plans to embrace the challenge wholeheartedly, continuing to let his track record and results speak for themselves.
