Ghana’s deputy captain Andre Ayew is set to get a new coach at Fenerbaçe following the departure of Philip Cocu.

The Dutch gaffer was fired after Fenerbahce’s 3-1 loss at home to Ankaragücü on Sunday which left them down in 15th spot in the Turkish Super Lig.

The 47-year-old decided to leave PSV in the summer to take over at the Turkish giants after he was wooed by new Fenerbahçe chairman Ali Koç. However, the appointment has been a disaster for Cocu and the club.

An early exit from the Champions League was followed up by a series of poor results in the league. Cocu only won four out of sixteen official matches since taking charge.
