Six kindergarten pupils between the ages of three and five have died after their school building collapsed on them while school was on Tuesday in session at Breman Jamra in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa district of the Central Region.

Four of them died on the spot while two others died at the Our Lady of Grace Hospital where the survivors and injured had been rushed to for medical attention.

Three other children who survived the accident are receiving treatment at the hospital.

A security man at the hospital, Kwaku Marfo, told ClassFMonline.com that the building caved in on the children between 9 and 10am.

He said part of the dilapidated mud structure had been pulled down so it could be fixed while the stronger part was left standing only to collapse on the children this morning.
