Colombia’s Vice President, Francia Elena Márquez Mina, has led a high-level business delegation to the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) to explore investment opportunities and deepen trade relations between Ghana and Colombia.
The delegation was welcomed at the Port of Tema by the Director of Port, Tebon Zumah, together with members of GPHA’s management team.
Engagements during the visit centred on strengthening port cooperation, exploring the feasibility of establishing a direct maritime route between Ghana and Colombia, and the possible signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise collaboration between the two countries.
Vice President Márquez Mina also extended an invitation to GPHA to participate in the African Trade Forum, which Colombia is scheduled to host in March 2026.
The visit ended with a guided tour of key facilities at the Port of Tema, including the MPS Terminal 3 and the Fruit Terminal, to showcase Ghana’s port infrastructure and operational capacity.
