Newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for the Adentan constituency, Mohammed Adamu Ramadan urged incumbent MP for the area, Yaw Buaben Asamoah to concentrate on his duties in the party.

Mr Ramadan alleged that Mr Buaben Asamoah has failed constituents for prioritizing his role within the party and abandoning the residents of Adentan.

According to him, the MP, who also serves as Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is much more committed to delivering on his duty at the party level than attending to the real needs of Adentan Constituents.

Speaking to Citi News, the brother of Ghana's second lady indicated that in such circumstance, it would be better to have the incumbent leave as MP to focus on his party duties.

“If you come to the ground and you try and enquire about him, most people don’t even see him. I think that he is concentrating more on his national assignment than his constituency duties so what we are saying to him is to concentrate on such national assignments and leave Adentan for Adentan people to run.”

Mohammed Adamu Ramadan beat Former Gender and Social Protection Minister, Nana Oye Lithur to emerge winner at the NDC Primaries in Adenta last week.

Mohammed Adamu Ramadan polled 730 votes as against Nana Oye Lithur’s 559 votes.

The Adentan constituency located close to Madina Abokobi, is one of the constituencies considered a swing seat.

Both the NPP and NDC have held the seat since its creation in 2004. No MP has managed to get re-elected for more than one term.
