General Overseer of The Maker's House Chapel, Dr. Michael Boadi Nyamekye has questioned the motivation behind election prophecies from some men of God in the country.

According to him, the new generation of Prophets seem to be abusing the sacred words of God.

"These election prophecies flying around and all over the place are too much now and the contradictory nature of it is an insult to God, injurious to Christianity, an enemy to nation building and a potential promoter of unrest post-election!" he wrote on his Facebook wall.

He wondered what kind of God would give contradictory messages regarding the winner in a Presidential election.

"'Thus saith the Lord' was a very revered statement from the premessianic era. They came to deliver the unadulterated RHEMA without fear or favor and go back to wait for the next word! The Prophets were revered and respected by all and sundry and were regarded as the carriers of Divine oracles!...The post messianic era has been quite interesting, the early church did continue in the paths of the old guards whilst the current ministers are in a different positional display! "Ghana, a peaceful nation in West Africa, is about to go to the polls to elect Parliamentarians and the President and interestingly, there are "Prophets" using the same sacred "Thus saith the Lord" from the Prophets of old! The only difference in this is that the Prophets appear very contradictory! Some declaring victory for the NPP, others for the NDC whilst others are prophesying calamity on the people of Ghana. How can the same God be giving divergent and contradictory views. The Omniscient, Omnipresent God apparently in Schizophrenic display which is the exclusive preserve of mortals!"

Wondering the motivation behind the "contradictory" prophecies, Dr Nyamekye counseled the post-messianic Prophets making those declarations, to rather ask God to grant the country post-election peace.

"What is the motivation of these 21st Century Prophets? Fame? Power? Money? Hmmmm, just thinking aloud. Is that the reason for the capitalistic hermeneutics and prosperity skewed sermons? Could that account for why Redemption, Reconciliation and Restoration are not so crucial to the men of the cloak?" he queried.

"...in the name of God, the merciful, that if you really hear from Him and you do pray to Him, then please ask Him to grant Ghana peace post-election," he stated.

The Prophets were revered and respected by all and sundry and were regarded as the carriers of Divine oracles! Their mandate was not to make gains by means of their calling but to bring reconciliation, redemption, direction and restoration to the people of God. We beg you in the name of God, the merciful that if you really hear from Him and you do pray to Him, then please ask Him to grant Ghana peace post-election. Please ask Him to grant the leaders the requisite wisdom and focus to move this nation forward. Ghana has so many challenges - politically, socially, economically etc and we need the leaders to fix this. You will all do Ghana good if you pray for peace, national unity, prosperity and promote patriotism. I am a firm believer that God has great plans for Ghana as a nation as well. These election prophecies flying around and all over the place are too much now and the contradictory nature of it is an insult to God, injurious to Christianity, an enemy to nation building and a potential promoter of unrest post-election! "I just can't think madness". My name is Dr. Michael Boadi Nyamekye and I support peace and nation building!
