Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opoku has recovered from a long term injury he suffered and is now back to fitness after six months on the sidelines.

The defender was crocked in July 2021 when he played for his side in a pre season friendly game and has since not played football.

His club detected a knee problem with the player after he returned from a Black Stars friendly games against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

Opoku played for Amiens' reserve side over the weekend for the first time since getting injured as he bids to return to the playing field.

The player has been blighted by persistent injury issues as last season he sustained an injury whiles playing for his side in Ligue II against Rodez but returned to fitness before the campaign ended.

After which he was named in the Ghana squad for the International friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast before suffering the latest set back.

His return will be good news for the Black Stars as they prepare to play against Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup qualifier play offs in March.
