The Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye has called on Ghanaians to collaborate in the fight against flooding in the country.

In a release dated 3rd June issued to mark the June 3 disaster, the Ministry  said government cannot fight the flooding situation all by itself, hence calls for the efforts of stakeholders in order to win the fight.

"It is important to highlight that government alone cannot win this fight and would require the active collaboration of all other stakeholders, especially the citizenry to succeed."

It intimated that President Akufo-Addo has invested five hundred and fifty-nine million Ghana cedis in the National Flood Control and Priority Drainage Programme, an initiative in curtailing flood in Ghana during the rainy season.

He stated that the government will continue to invest resources across the country to ensure that flooding challenges are addressed and also build resilience against future flood risk.

He, therefore, entreated Ghanaians to complement the government efforts in dealing with a flood in the country by adhering to proper disposal of waste.
