Leicester City Defender Daniel Amartey is in town for the Black Stars World cup qualifier against Ethiopia next month after completing his duty for the foxes over the weekend.

Amartey 26, played full time for Leicester in their 2-1 away win over Norwich City in the English premier league.

He is among the first batch of players to arrive for Ghana's double clash against Ethiopia and South Africa.

It will be his first competitive assignment in two years, after making a resounding return into coach CK Akonnor's team for the friendlies against the Atlas Lions of Morocco in Rabat and Ivory Coast.

The Black Stars Centre back has been instrumental in the Foxes season openers including winning the community shield against Manchester City.

He is expected to move straight to the Black Stars Camp which begins on Monday 30th August, with many more players arriving for the double header qualifiers.

Daniel Amartey, and other England based players will only be available for the Opening fixture against Ethiopia as they have been asked not to travel to ‘redlisted’ South Africa for COVID-19.

The Black Stars will face Ethiopia on Friday September 3 before travelling to Johannesburg to face Bafana Bafana three days later.
