Danlad Ibrahim, the former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper now with Ethiopian side Coffee SC, recently shared his admiration for his successor at Kotoko, Frederick Asare.

In an interview with Nationalist TV, Ibrahim revealed the strong bond he shares with Asare, describing him as a close friend and teammate.

"I and Frederick Asare are like brothers, teammates, and friends," Ibrahim said. "I always advised him based on the experience I got from the national team. He has been doing so well, and I am proud of him."

Ibrahim’s journey with Kotoko began in 2016, and after a brief loan spell, he became the club's first-choice goalkeeper, making 69 appearances in the Ghana Premier League.

His illustrious career also includes winning the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana in 2021 and being selected for the Black Stars squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, last season saw a change, with Ibrahim losing his starting spot at Kotoko. The club chose not to renew his contract, and he eventually moved to Ethiopia.

Despite this, his deep friendship with Asare remains, illustrating that their bond extends far beyond their time together at the club.
