Interim Asante Kotoko coach Michael Osei has served six members of his playing body with suspensions for going contrary to camp rules ahead of their clash against WAFA next Sunday.

The six offending players include goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi, Theophilius Nyame, Emmanuel Asante, Samuel Kyere, Atta Kusi and Ahmed Adams.

Samuel Kyere has however been demoted to the club's junior ranks and lashed with a fine for uploading unacceptable comments on his Facebook wall.

The suspension comes after the Porcupines lost 5:3 to Ashanti region rivals Ashgold on Wednesday. It is however not clear as to whether the club's humiliating defeat triggered the suspension.

"It is true. I have suspended six players," Michael Osei said.

"Samuel Kyere, Emmanuel Asante, Eric Ofori Antwi, Ahmed Adams, Atta Kusi and Theophilius Nyame but with Samuel Kyere, he has been demoted to the U-17 team and have been fined by the club as well. He told Nhyira FM.

The coach reiterated that he is a disciplined manager and will exercise the appropriate measure of control over his charges insisting that it is an honor for any player to play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

"I am a disciplined coach and I want to exercise to the players because I always tell them that to play for Kotoko is a big honor to you as a player."

Kotoko need a win against WAFA at home on Sunday in order to ensure a top four finish.
