The Minister for Communication, Digitalisation and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has announced that beginning July 1, 2025, Ghanaians will see a 10–15% increase in the value of data bundles across all major telecommunications networks.
The announcement was made during a press briefing held on June 10, 2025, where the Minister explained that the decision followed a series of engagements with telecom CEOs aimed at improving data value for consumers.
"I am pleased to announce that my engagement with the CEOs has resulted in the following specific measures, which are to take effect from Tuesday, 1st of July 2025: a 10% increase in all data bundles currently offered by the networks," Mr. George stated.
In addition to the general 10% increase, the Minister revealed that special data bundles, which had seen a significant reduction in value over the years, will also be restored.
Specific Changes by Network:
AT Ghana: The GH¢400 data bundle, which previously offered 195GB, will now provide 236GB.
Telecel Ghana (formerly Vodafone): The GH¢400 bundle, currently offering 90GB, will be increased to 250GB.
MTN Ghana (ScanCom Ghana Limited): All data bundles will see a 15% increase in value. Additionally, the GH¢399 bundle, which had been revised to GH¢350 for 92.88GB, will be restored to GH¢399 and offer 214GB.
The Minister also emphasized that sanctions will be imposed on any telecommunications company that fails to implement the revised data packages as announced.
