Ghana striker David Accam scored the only goal for his Swedish side Hammarby IF in the qualification round of the 2021/2022 Europa Conference League on Thursday.

He scored as his side cruised into the next round to give them a 1-0 aggregate win over NK Maribor at the Ljudski VRT grounds.

The two sides clashed in the second leg of the Europa Conference League on Thursday after the first leg ended 3-1 in Sweden for HammarbyIF.

Accam did not take part in the first leg game that took place in Sweden last week but was handed a starting berth and he quickly repaid his coach's faith in him as he scored in the 5th minute of the game.

He latched on to a pass from Darijan Bojanic to give his side the solitary goal in the fifth minute after an early dominance from the away side.

The win means they have progressed 4-1 on aggregate of UEFA's third tier competition.

Having excelled it is likely he will play in his team's next match on Sunday, July 1, 2021, when the team takes on Ostersund in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
