The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mpraeso constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr. Davis Opoku Ansah has held a meeting with his constituents.

The meeting took place on Friday, April 23, 2021.

The meeting was attended by major stakeholders in the constituency including religious leaders, security agency heads, market queens, and community leaders.

According to the Mpraeso legislator, the aim of the meeting was to build a constituency united for development.

Mr. Opoku Mensah took the opportunity to explain government policies to his constituents and also briefed them on issues that transpired in the 8th Parliament since its inauguration.

He also used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the constituents for voting for him as their MP.

The MP at the said meeting also called on the government to stop Soon Mining Company Limited from mining for gold along the Praso River.

The Mpraeso lawmaker said the activities of the mining company if not checked will affect Ghana’s cocoa production.

“The effect of mining on the people of Praso will not only destroy the river body and lands but also negatively affect our cocoa production, and we all must make a decision today as we have met here”. Source: citifmonline.com
