The Chairman of the largest Opposition Party the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has called on the Security Agencies in the country to deal with the shooting that occurred at the NDC Ashanti regional office yesterday.

The Party Chairman was in a meeting with some members of the party at Kumasi when a gunshot was fired killing one person and injured another.

Speaking on Radio Ghana, he added that, whoever the shooters are, whether members of the party's vigilante group the Hawks, it doesn't matter they must be brought to face the full force of the law.

He said, “We are saying that those who are insinuating that they are hawks or vultures or eagles and so on, we don’t care…the police should not look at party colours; they should pursue the perpetrators as perpetrators of crime, and deal with them according to the law. Whether they are from our party or they are from outside our party is immaterial. Look at what their crimes are and pursue them”.

Asiedu Nketia was in a meeting with the National Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and the Regional Executive Committee met at the office to resolve some misunderstandings within the NDC in the Ashanti Region.
