The body 52-year-old man was found in a decomposing state in a barrel in his room at Atonsu Bokro in the Asokwa Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

The lifeless body of Justice Asuo Gyebi, who is believed to have died a week ago, was found dead after neighbours noticed his absence in the area the past week.

According to the residents, they started experiencing a pungent smell in the area on Tuesday and suspected the occupant of the room may have died unknown to them.

A neighbour Justice K. Gyebi narrating the unfortunate incident to the media said, the deceased has not been well for some time and is always found of locking himself up in the room.

According to him, although the deceased was not well but the cause of his sudden death is not immediately known.

He said the police after obtaining the necessary information broke into the room and found the body of the deceased decomposing.

The body was conveyed by the Asokwa District Police Command to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for preservation.

A police officer who confirmed the sad news said, they believe the deceased passed away 3 days ago.

Meanwhile, the Asokwa Police has commenced investigation into the incident.
