The Deputy Minister of Health, Gifty Tina Mensah has instructed the Chief Executive Officer of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to enable a 2 year old boy go through a surgery to save his life.

The boy who was brought to Accra by his parents after being diagnosed of throat disorder making it difficult for him to feed through the mouth is displayed along Awoshie and Sakaman-Dansoman roads to seek attention from sympathizers to donate to the boy’s aid.

The boy’s predicament caught the attention of the Member of Parliament for Mallam-Gbawe constituency last Saturday and called the CEO of KATH to ascertain the boy’s condition since the mere appearance and the motive of the suppose parents can’t confirm the condition.

The boy who was full of life signifying hope has a tube inserted into his belly to help him eat through it.

A story of a 2 year old boy caught my attention this weekend and i feel it is worth sharing.

Last Saturday, I chanced on a 2 year old boy who am told by parents that he is suffering from throat disorder which makes it difficult for him to feed through the mouth.

Apparently, the boy who was full of life signifying hope has a tube inserted into his belly to help him eat through it. Pathetic, isn’t? Your guess is as good as mine.

This is the most reason why we should give thanks to the Almighty for every situation or condition we find ourselves. It is never our good work or deeds.

Another pathetic thing is that the parents has brought him all the way from Kumasi to Accra in the name of raising funds to pay the cost of the boy’s surgery at KATH.

One would ask why the parents will bring him all the way to Accra to use him to make money.

The boy am told is usually displayed along Awoshie and Sakaman-Dansoman roads to seek attention from sympathizers to donate to the boy’s aid. It could probably be a lucrative business to the parents. What a pity.

The boy’s predicament caught my attention to help. I then called the CEO of KATH to ask about the boy’s condition to ascertain the truth since the mere appearance and the motive of the suppose parents can’t confirm the condition.

I instructed the CEO to ensure that the boy’s condition is given attention to enable him go through the surgery to save his life.

This attempt, though the boy is yet to be sent for surgery gives me joy in my heart. I feel satisfied and accomplished. It’s a service to humanity.

It gives me joy to assist in any means possible to solve a human problem.

I am following up on the boy’s issue this morning.

Let’s all, in our own small way do what we can to help humanity. We lose nothing when we help.
