Black Galaxies head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has voiced his opposition to calls for the dismissal of Otto Addo after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The team finished bottom of Group F, failing to secure a single victory in the qualifiers and accumulating just three points.

In the wake of this disappointing outcome, there has been mounting pressure on the Ghana Football Association to part ways with Otto Addo and his technical team.

However, Dramani insists that sacking the 47-year-old coach is not the solution, advocating for a patient and strategic rebuilding process instead.

“Sacking coaches is never the best solution, even though it’s a common practice in football,” Dramani stated in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.

“Sometimes, coaches are sacrificed to shield the image of the team, but often, it’s the players who didn’t meet expectations, and that’s not the coach’s fault.”

He underscored the importance of focusing on long-term development, pointing out that progress is not always immediately visible.

“Results matter, but sometimes progress is gradual. Bringing in a new coach isn’t the solution. Even if you lose matches but see signs of improvement, patience is essential.

Rebuilding is a progressive approach where you win some, lose some, and draw some.”

Dramani cautioned against reactionary decisions, emphasizing that consistency and trust in the process are vital to achieving lasting success.

“If we keep sacking coaches without focusing on a clear direction, we will lose our way. It’s about trusting the process and addressing challenges head-on rather than making hasty changes.”

The Ghana Football Association is expected to decide Otto Addo's future on Wednesday, November 27.

The outcome could shape the direction of Ghanaian football as the team seeks to recover from the recent setback.
