The ruling New Patriotic Party has distanced itself from comments made by its Ashanti regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.

Opposition NDC on Saturday 24th August held its parliamentary elections across the length and breadth of the country. After the elections some bigwigs and incumbent MP’s lost heavily with some blaming vote buying for their loss.

Ras Mubarak who is the incumbent MP for Kumbungu lost heavily and blamed his defeat on his opponent paying more than he did.

Speaking in an interview on Accra based Neat fm, Chairman Wontumi asserted that they the NPP influenced results of NDC’s parliamentary elections.

He declared and categorically stated that the NPP meddled in the defeat of Kumbungu MP Ras Mubarak but spokesperson for the NPP, Mr Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has distanced the party from any influence on the NDC elections.
