The Division One League Board has condemned the brazen attack on referee Maxwell Hason and his assistants by supporters of BA United on Sunday at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

They have also asked the Ghana Football Association to work closely with security officials and apprehend culprits who committed the dastardly act that occurred on Sunday as they were captured on camera.

Supporters of BA United chased and assaulted referee Maxwell Hanson and his assistants during their match day 27 league game against Real Tamale United(RTU).

While a section of RTU fans also pelted the referee with stones and missiles when the referee overturned a penalty decision.

This led to the abrupt end of the said match after the fan violence at the Sunyani Coronation Park despite the presence of security men from the Ghana Police and Military.

In a statement released by the board on Tuesday, the acts of hooliganism were condemned, reiterating their commitment to see to a violence-free league.

“The DOL Board condemns this act of misconduct in no uncertain terms, and wishes to assure the football fraternity and the general public of its determination to collaborate with all the relevant organs of the Ghana Football Association and the state security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly attack are identified and brought to book,” the statement read.
