The country's second-tier league commenced over the week, with former Ghana Premier league side King Faisal FC taking on Nzema Kotoko FC on match day 1 fixture. The much-anticipated encounter played at the AAK Ampain Sports Arena saw, visitors King Faisal shock Nzema Kotoko FC on Sunday afternoon.

Despite, playing away the Insha Allah Boys defied all odds to register a win to mark a brilliant start to the 2024/25 Division One League season.

Netting twice in the first department of the game, King Faisal FC went ahead to amass all three points with a 2-1 scoreline after Micheal Osei had broken the deadlock in the 17 minute and later Daniel Ofosu giving them the comfort seat before break.

Micheal Osei and Daniel Ofosu combined to inspire King Faisal to a deserving victory having taken their feet off the wheel in the second half. Though, the host grew stronger in the game especially second department but could only manage to reduce the deficit by one after King Faisal had been reduced to 10-men in the 72' minute.

Nonetheless, Coach Awuni Barnabas side maintained their composure and stayed compact for a win.

As it all ended 2-1 for the away side with a cleansheet.
