The agent of Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Salifu Ibrahim, has hinted that the club should not blame his client if they wait for the contract of his client to expire at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old, who has been consistently linked with an exit from the Accra giants, has attracted interest from several clubs due to his impressive performances on the field.

Having joined Hearts of Oak in 2021 from former Ghana Premier League side Eleven Wonders, Salifu's contract with the club is set to expire in two months.

In an interview with Kumasi FM, his agent Benedict Asiedu suggested the possibility of extending Salifu's contract with Hearts of Oak if the club takes the necessary steps.

"Talks about renewing his contract began quite a long time ago with Alhaji Akambi, but we stopped following the change of management. I don’t know whether they are looking for new alternatives," Asiedu revealed.

He emphasized that while Salifu is interested in continuing with Hearts of Oak, the final decision lies with the club's management.

"The player is willing, but if you let the contract expire, don’t blame me if Salifu doesn’t renew his contract with Hearts of Oak. We are still waiting for them, but I won’t extend the contract if they wait for it to expire," Asiedu asserted.

Despite facing injury challenges, Salifu has demonstrated his midfield prowess, earning recognition as the best player of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

This season, he has appeared in 24 games for the Phobians, contributing two goals and registering nine assists, showcasing his value to the team.
